Had someone today looking for a work placement with us (I run a small consultancy called Deafworks) - WHY DON'T THEY PREPARE FOR THIS!! Don't schools and colleges teach young people how to prepare for and ask for, work experience?
OK, this is how you do it! Six Top Tips
1. Think what you (the person enquiring) can offer us (the employer)
2. Don't focus on what we ought to be doing for you (it's the reverse)
3. Be polite - remember we are doing you a favour!
4. Be ready to negotiate dates and times
5. Bring your CV along & anything else you think we might want to look at
6. PLEASE research us first - most organisations (if not all) have websites!
Good points, well made. Looks fine to me Laraine! MM
